10 Sleek Fabric Types

There are so many reasons for Product Return ranging from incorrect sizes of products ordered or the product does not match the description on the website. A deliberate fraud or it could be the product was no longer needed.

I'm here to share with you a few tips with image samples on the different kinds of fabrics (not all fabric types), to deliver top-notch information to you so as to maximize the services i would be providing you subsequently. Shall we begin with the different types of fabrics used in dress making.

I. Silk: Silk fabric has a lustrous and glossy sheen with small slubs that run horizontally across the fabric

II. Neoprene: Neoprene fabric is created by sandwiching a 1.6 mm layer of SBR fabric (Styrene Butadiene) in between layers of polyester spandex resulting in a 2 mm thick fabric.

III. Organza: Organza comes from the silk family. Organza can vary widely in thickness. Thin organza is sheer and somewhat flowy, but thick organza can be stiff as burlap.

IV. Acetate: Acetate fabrics are non- stretchy fabrics that remain crisp. They drape well and have a smooth silky feel.

V. Leather: Leather is a durable and flexible material created by tanning animal raw hides, mostly cattle. Its thickness varies and could be incorporated either as a clothing in itself or an accessory.
VI. Corduroy: Corduroy is a coarse woolen cloth that absorbs water up to 65% of its own weight without dripping. It has a soft handle and good drape. This fabric isn't elastic, so it creases easily.

VII. Spandex: Otherwise known as Lycra or Elastane is a synthetic fiber known for its exceptional elasticity. This fabric varies in thickness.

VIII. Jacquard: Any fabric that has a pattern woven into the fabric rather than printed on it is a jacquard. Brocade and Damask are types of jacquard woven fabrics. The fabric can be made with natural or synthetic fibers.

IX. Panne: A velvet like fabric that has been flattened to achieve a desired design or look with a soft feel to it.

X. Blend: A term applied to a yarn or a fabric that is made up of more than one fiber. This fabric has a coarse rather than a soft feel to it and can easily absorb water.

How the Tignon Laws tried to Conceal African Beauty

Most times, head coverings are associated with religious practices, but it has extended into the fashion scene and it is worth every attention it draws.      Before i go further, did you know that a decree known as the Tignon Law was passed to prevent women of African descent , Slave or Free, from unveiling their hair? They were to cover their hair and heads with a knotted headdress.      Headdresses are not just a medium to conceal women's beauty but have been incorporated as a fashion accessory and are becoming mainstream not only for a particular religious sect. Modest Fashion Movements are emerging, while some of its designs are featured with head coverings, some are not and it is becoming a thing right now and i'm so digging it.                                                      ...
